ABDOMINOPLASTY
Loose abdominal skin with a large fat deposit that won't respond to diet or exercise bother plenty of women. Plastic surgeon could flatten the abdomen by removing excess fat skin and tightening the surrounding muscles. This is so cooled "tummy tuck" procedure. During it surgeon separates the skin from the abdominal wall all the way up to your ribs and lifts a large skin flap to reveal the vertical muscles in your abdomen. If it is necessary these muscles are tightened by pulling them close together and stitching them into their new position. The skin flap is then stretched down and the extra skin is removed. Abdominal scars will not show under most clothing, even under bathing suits.Various types of anesthesia can be used for abdominoplasty. In our clinic we usually use the epidural block, the same type of anesthesia commonly used in childbirth. After surgery one or two overnight nursing facility is required.
